JENNIFER HAGEDORN

Jen Hagedorn Pottery and Ceramic Art

Welcome

I appreciate that you’re here.

I’m an artist living in Haywood County, Western North Carolina, who’s found herself in clay. At present I’m figuring out where and how to build my own studio. In the meantime, I’m dreaming up the ways I can create some of the ideas or concepts I have and want to express. They involve big numbers. I’m also very interested in traveling back and forth to the Philippines, where I grew up, to research the craft and history of pottery in its many regions. I’m drawn to visiting the elders and re-visiting our traditions. I want to learn about our own clay. I want to know the rituals, the process, and the practice.

It seems natural to have a curiosity towards the lineage and land I’m from, but the interest and desire to learn about clay and form extend to other ancient cultures and traditions.

While I’m building the pages where I will share more of my art and my work, please feel free to send me a message through my contact page. You can also find me on Instagram @beautifulnothing. You can find “3rd Place: “One Thousand Wishes: A Prayer Jar” by visiting the Stifel Fine Arts Center‘s “Earth and Fire” International Juried Exhibition, and “1st Place: “LUSH3 International Juried Exhibition” by visiting the Lighthouse Arts Center.
